As a Carter Lumber Production Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving production efficiency and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products. Your expertise in operating, setting up and maintaining high production CNC door machinery (KVAL, Norfield) will be essential for success in this position. You’ll lead a team to meet/exceed production goals and uphold safety standards while minimizing expenses. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary for this position.      

Requirements

  • Previous experience leading a team with is required. 
  • Ability to comprehend, learn and train a diverse team of employees. 
  • Previous management experience in a production and/or building materials environment. 
  • Experience with door hanging, sizing, trimming and hardware preparations. 
  • Possess knowledge with jamb preparation, hole drilling, and performing quality inspections. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. 
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills. 
  • Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. 

Responsibilities
Production Management 

  • Provides direction for efficient production scheduling to ensure volume and financial budgets are being met.  
  • Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and service. 
  • Develop and implement a clear vision and strategy team. 
  • Ensures production schedules are met with quality production output. 

Door Machinery 

  • Program door machinery to the specifications required to complete individual door units with 100% accuracy. 
  • Routinely examine completed units for adherence to customers’ expectations. 
  • Ensuring timely and accurate adherence to product maintenance schedules. 

Inventory Control 

  • Manage inventory levels for raw materials, finished products, and tooling. 
  • Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to maintain optimal inventory levels.  

Safety 

  • Communicates policies and ensures that employees follow safety standards during production.  
  • Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting on door machines, ensuring they operate smoothly and efficiently.
