A Carter Lumber Business Reporting Analyst is responsible for compiling information from all divisions of the company in order to prepare reporting and analysis for store locations to aid them in making better business decisions. Effective communication with the field and internal departments are mandatory for the success of this position.
Prior accounting experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Business
Prior experience working with accounting and ledger software
Solid business sense and analytical skills
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Good problem-solving skills using various analytical methods
Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects concurrently
Must be able to communicate and work well with others, ability to provide analytic support
Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel, including Visual Basic
Proficient in Microsoft FRx or Management Reporter (or a proficient understanding of relational database concepts)
Ensures all transactions take place in accordance with accounting principles.
Assigns and follows up with all questionable accounting transactions.
Provides support to personnel regarding accounting questions or issues.
Compiles financial reports on actual results compared to planned goals for various divisions of the company.
Provides analytic support including but not limited to; pulling data, preparing analysis, interpreting data and making sound recommendations.
Ensures that reporting is accurate and timely.
Recommends improvements on reporting to improve communication and clarification.
Provides forecast analysis for all reports developed for management and related personnel to aid in business decisions.
Provides support to Operation Managers, General Managers, Market Managers, and Market Vice Presidents during annual budgeting/planning process, as well as throughout the year as needed with industry changes.
Analyzes trends and variations from budget in order to identify root causes and make recommendations to Management regarding future planning.
