Benefits & Insurance Clerk
Carter Lumber Benefits/Insurance Clerks are responsible for processing enrollment on various benefits programs and manages all paperwork for general liability claims. The ability to handle sensitive materials while maintaining confidentially is a key function of this position. A working knowledge of company benefits, policies and procedures is necessary. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary to this position.
Possess a strong work ethic and the ability to work under time constraints
Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to analyze and provide recommendations to solve problems
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
Knowledge of ACA reporting, experience in ADP (Payforce) Benefits Module
Handles employee communication, enrollment and administration on various employee benefits programs such as; group health insurance, life, dental, disability and 401(k). This includes acting as a liaison between our providers and employees regarding enrollment, claims and general benefits questions. Acts as back-up to the Benefits Manager.
Responsible for the processing and communication of all claims paperwork while keeping the Benefits Manager updated on issues that arise. Maintains the general liability claims database. .
